2. Operation Falafel
Location- Downtown Dubai (and many other branches)

Operation Falafel is a modern take on authentic Arabic street food with a simple setup and an open kitchen concept. Simple settings, subtle ambience and great hospitality are hallmarks of this outlet, which is located in Downtown Dubai, with option of both indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered hummus, stuffed falafel platter, salad and fresh crispy bread. It was for the first time I tried stuffed falafels (four huge ones, which you can barely finish) and they’re stuffed with a mix of foul beans, tomato and onion with Arabic spices.

Fiery Falafel Sandwich tasted good, it had their crunchy falafels, tahini, shatta (tomato and chilli paste) and pickles in a saj bread.Their recent addition is vegan food and I tried the vegan zaatar bread and falafel wrap. Hummus was super creamy and delicious, the best one that I have ever tried. The fresh, crispy breads are great accompaniment to the main dishes and the entire meal was a great experience.

3. Aarey’s Kitchen & Restaurant
Location- Al Barsha

Aarey’s Kitchen & Restaurant is a newly opened, homegrown restaurant aimed at serving fresh, wholesome food to people looking at home-cooked food in casual surroundings. This hidden gem in Al Barsha doubles up as the perfect spot for snacks on the go as well as budget-friendly meals.

It has good options on snacks, breakfast, combos and     meals.  With flavourful North- Indian and South-Indian varieties, the restaurant prides in its tongue-tickling North- Indian and South- Indian thalis. The thalis are a sumptuous delight by themselves with an array of vegetables, dal, papad, curd, chappatis and variety of vegetables and desserts. Apart from its sumptous thalis, its best- sellers include the tantalizing ragda pattice, samosas, palak dosa, chat, pakodas, poha, vegetable sizzler and masala tea.

To say that the restaurant offers value for money and prompt service in relaxed indoor/outdoor seating through its friendly staff would not be an overstatement. The best part is that the quality of food is well- maintained irrespective of its affordable price list. Hence, its easy on the wallet and stomach, too.
