“Yoga  not just adds years to your life, but also adds life to your years. It helped me transform both physically and mentally, more like it aligned me and directed me in the right direction. Yoga regulates one’s behavior, emotions, and controls the mental faculties. Yoga becomes a part of lifestyle after consistent practice, it’s more like a disciple and you have to surrender to it. Nothing comes free in life, if you want to see the positive changes, you will have to put in efforts. Once that happens, you will see a lot of changes. With the rise of mental health issues and with all that’s happening around, I feel one should try to adopt a healthy lifestyle and focus on how to inculcate habits that make help in calming the mind and body. Yoga helped me in gaining clarity in my thoughts and actions. “Shilpa Shetty

“I have been practicing Iyengar yoga for almost 15  years. I want my body to be aligned and this form of traditional yoga helps me achieve that … Iyengar yoga is all about breath control and is a combination of postures and pranayama [breath control]. You feel elongated after a session.

“It also helps me with my strength. We use props like ropes and soft bricks. But if you are not focused, then your breath control isn’t right and your asanas [poses] are not under your control.” – Esha Gupta

“It helps me in keeping my mental and physical health intact. It helps me to connect to nature. Also, my body has become more flexible after consistent yoga practice. It also helps you to develop a great sense of self-discipline and self-awareness. In short, it improves our well-being and gives us better clarity in thoughts.”

Lastly Sharma says, “After starting practicing yoga I feel the freshness and difference in day to day activities. I personally feel that once the consistency is maintained, our body starts to speak. My body becomes better and I feel more confident, more powerful, more aligned and balanced in my life.” I truly wish everyone Happy International Yoga day Stay Fit and Happy.Karanvir Sharma
