AILUROMANIA CAFÉ

Dubai’s love for cats is well- known as we can often see the kitties purring down Dubai streets. But if you fancy spending more time with these purring animals, head to the Ailuromania café. Thanks to the initiative by Saudi sisters Iman and Allaa Ahmed Al Aulaqi and their love of furry felines, one can see, interact and play with cats in a safe and friendly atmosphere. Ailuromania Café has 20 rescue cats who have been selected to live in the café due to their easy-going nature and love of attention. If you want the full experience sit in the ‘cat area’, which houses kitties in every nook and cranny imaginable. You can eat here, but bear in mind the cats may jump on your table. The snacks are stored in the ‘non- cat’ part of the café and a minimum spend of Dhs50 is required to dine with Ailuromania’s fluffy residents. There’s a distinct feline-free zone in the café serving salads and sandwiches, from where you could ogle at the moggies through a glass window. The cafe comes with a dedicated ‘cat room’ fitted with a double bunk-bed, litter boxes, food dispensers, toy box and scratching post for the felines to relax. Visitors can interact with them in the common seating area, in one-hour blocks, with prior reservations online.
