There are times when we want to digress from the usual food items and try something different and unique. That’s the reason for my visit to Tikka Shikka Restaurant and honestly, I was quite impressed with their line of unique gastronomic offerings. This pocket-friendly restaurant is a hidden gem in the quite precincts of Karama, close to Zabeel Road.

We started off with Channa Batata which is a flavourful Bohri snack usually consumed during Ramadan. The hot corn-on- the- cob or ‘Masala Bhutta’ as we call it back home was roasted straight from Tandoor and smeared with desi masala and tangy lemon is one delight that all Indians look forward to and is scrumptious to dig into. This snack is especially enjoyed during rains or cold weather and we were at the right place at the right time.

Their umpteen varieties in Paneer Tikka mesmerised us- Lal Paneer Tikka, Hara Paneer Tikka, Malai Paneer Tikka, The Gulabi Gobi Tikka and Laal Gobhi Tikka. It was for the first time, I tried the Malabar Parotta- so soft yet crispy and divine to sink my teeth into. It was the perfect accompaniment to the moderately spiced yet delicious choley masala. We were so spoilt for choice as there were crispy bhaturas too that went equally well with Masala Choley. To finish off this sumptuous meal (although we were left with no space for it) we had the delicious Shahi Tukda which is a welcome dessert anytime and anywhere. They have fresh juices also and do not miss out on their Adhrak wali Masala Chai that goes perfectly with their barbeque offerings.

If you love tandoori delights, Tikka Shikka Restaurant is a must try and even if you are not, this restaurant will delight you with other delights. Either ways, this restaurant is a must -visit. Their cute, outdoorsy setting is a great place to dine-in, especially in these cooler climes. And they also do live barbeque sessions and home orders, too.
