An impressive new addition to Dubai’s prime retail destination City Walk has recently been unveiled to shoppers, offering dress rental for evening and bridal wear.
Olivia Mezher, founder and CEO of The Hour Dress, appointed an Italian-owned Dubai architectural and interior design practice to create the perfect space for her increasingly popular dress rental business.
Mezher, a Lebanese-French entrepreneur, already has a well-established store in Beirut, but her Dubai expansion brings with it an entirely new offering in the form of bridal gowns. The Hour Dress already offers exquisite evening gowns and accessories for rental, and the new service comes as a result of overwhelming customer demand.
Having set out to find the right architectural and design partners to build a store that could facilitate the service, the entrepreneur acquired a premises in City Walk and appointed Riccardo Vicarelli’s Dubai-based firm RVA.
As a renowned design-build contractor, the RVA team provided an end-to-end service over a two month period, bringing Mezher’s initial vision to life with bespoke joinery, seamless project management, and interior design expertise.
Riccardo Vicarelli, lead architect at RVA, shared his thoughts on the project, “Our design and build service was a natural fit for the plans that Olivia had for The Hour Dress Dubai, as it meant that her entire vision could be managed and realised by our team – all while she focused on her already extremely successful business.”
Bringing our architectural drawings to life involved designing bespoke fixtures for the space, and we created an area for the in-house seamstress and an exclusive corner for bridal customers to make use of. It functions for Olivia as a space where her customers can enjoy the in-store experience away from other shoppers, making the process of purchasing a dress even more exciting and memorable.”
