The Al Seef area has seen a major facelift in recent times and a predominant part of the limelight is stolen by the restaurants that have sprouted up in this heritage area. Ila is one amongst them. A specialist in Middle- eastern cuisine, Ila restaurant enjoys a contemporary exterior with gorgeous views of the Creek. The interior features the unmissably splendid Moroccan chandelier. It serves Egyptian, Moroccan, Lebanese and other Arabic specialties along with few other international dishes. Recently, ILA has also tied up with 100% plant -based restaurant Just Vegan to offer some tempting selection of contemporary Vegan Arabic dishes.
The restaurant prides in both interior and alfresco dining both on the ground and first floor. Since the evenings are still pleasant, it is a delight to enjoy outdoor dining while you see the ferries buzzing past over the turquoise Creek waters.
Food at Ila is great, to say the least. The Mushroom & Broccoli pasta with pink sauce was sumptuous, so was the Margerita Pizza. The Beiruti Hummus was the perfect compliment to the crisp falafels and soft and delicious breads. Mannakesh was tasty. I loved the Falafel rolls, too. For dessert, we had kunafa which is a must try out here.
The kids play area is an added delight for families with kids. The staff was professional and hospitable and service was very prompt and efficient. For shisha lovers, the restaurant offers a variety of flavors with proper segregation and seating arrangement on the first floor.
Overall, ILA blends traditional Arabic food with modern setting and ambience to play a perfect day out with friends and family. Sumptuous food, luxe presentation, affable service in stunning location- ILA wins thumbs up for all good reasons.
